With over 30 years of experience both in scandinavia and europe with residential design, hospitality, sports and events, commercial architecture, and interior design, ArchMind Architects strives to convey a deeper sense of the built environment. The company, based in Helsinki and Stockholm, operates in Scandinavia and Spain and focuses on using design to enrich the human experience.
As architects and designers, we view our work as a process of promoting well-being, where we define aesthetics that harmonize with both the individual and the place, addressing universal human needs.
Every project, whether architecture, interior design, or objects is characterized by a minimalist style aimed at re-sensualizing the built environment through tactile design that engages both the mind and body. Our goal is always to identify the essence of the design, regardless of its scale or context, to create buildings, spaces, and objects that satisfy the inherent human longing for belonging, autonomy, and identity.
Our expertise lies in recognizing the moment when nothing more needs to be added or taken away; when function and aesthetics come together, and the result feels as satisfying as it looks.
Our environment shapes who we are. The places we find ourselves in and the objects we surround ourselves with influence our feelings, thoughts, and actions, forming the foundation of our daily lives. With well-being as our central goal, ArchMinds approach to architecture and design is rooted in the belief that spaces and interiors should primarily serve their users, rather than merely functioning as artistic expressions.
Sensual minimalism is a human-centered design philosophy that places human well-being at its core. Whether it’s a small residential area, a luxurious retreat or a sports facility for the city residents—each example reflects our commitment to design that prioritizes human comfort and well-being.
The Art of Space and Balance
"MA" is like a holder within which things can exist, stand out, and have meaning. "MA" is the emptiness full of possibilities, like a promise yet to be fulfilled.
The concept of “Ma” is at the heart of Japanese minimalism.
We find inspiration in this ancient principle to create more space for the things that matter, for something surprising or sublime that can be found in the gaps. “We find beauty not just in the thing itself but in the patterns of shadows, the light and the darkness, that one thing against another creates.”
In art, “Ma” can be described as an emptiness full of possibilities, like a promise yet to be fulfilled, or “the silence between the notes that make the music.”
The idea of doing more with less has become increasingly relevant
